People in tech tend to leave. That’s just the way it is.
According to a recent LinkedIn report, the Tech industry boasts the second-highest turnover rate with a median employment time of 1-2 years.
This is infinitely frustrating to employers, as tech teams are integral to the functioning and survival of any business. Yet finding truly talented people, and then hanging onto them, can often feel like roping the wind (or any other euphemism you may have for doing the impossible).
It turns out, though, that it might not actually be that difficult.
We talk to tech candidates daily and have found that what they want is typically pretty simple. Give it to them, and see if they hang on just a little bit longer…
Don’t give it to them, and plan on re-filling your role within a year or two when another company does.
Here are the 𝐓𝐨𝐩 5 Ways to Retain Top Tech Talent:
1. Create a distinctive work culture
2. Prioritize professional development
3. Be flexible
4. Offer competitive pay
5. Focus on excellence in leadership
